🌿 Wellness Wednesday Blog – Finding calm in the chaos: how Mazarine resets after an intense week

In a world where performance often takes centre stage – especially in elite sports – we sometimes forget how powerful it can be to simply pause.

For rower Mazarine Guilbert, rest isn’t a luxury. It’s a lifeline. She trains hard for the European Championships, but she also makes space to recharge mentally. Not with grand gestures. But with real, honest pauses.

After a heavy training week, I need those moments. The little things that bring me back to balance. That remind me who I am, beyond results” - Mazarine Guilbert

Here are six ways Mazarine likes to reset. Maybe some will sound familiar to you too.

☀️ 1. Coffee in the sun

Coffee and a book in the sunshine – one of Mazarine’s go-to reset rituals after a week of intense training.

It might sound simple. But that’s the point.
“Sun on my face, coffee in hand… nothing else. That moment gives me breathing space.”

A tiny pause with a big effect.

🏃‍♀️ 2. Cheering on her friends

Even as a high-level athlete, she finds energy in watching others grow.
“I love supporting my friends in their races or projects. It really lights me up.”
For her, rest is about connection – not isolation.

🍰 3. Baking healthy treats

Homemade banana bread with dark chocolate chunks – one of Mazarine’s favourite offline reset moments.

“I put on a podcast and start baking. It brings me right into the now.”
The kitchen becomes her calm space. And if something tasty comes out of it? Bonus.

🌅 4. Watching the morning light hit her room

“That early light on my plants and my desk… it grounds me.”
A reminder that beauty is in the small things. And that the pause button is always within reach.

🍽 5. Sharing food with friends

Food, for Mazarine, is not just fuel. It’s connection.
“Sharing a meal, laughing together – it makes me feel like I don’t have to carry it all alone.”
Sometimes, peace lives around a shared table.

🐱 6. Napping with her cat Jeroom

“Jeroom doesn’t stress. He just lies down. So I follow.”
A powernap with a paw on your arm. Rest in its purest form.

💛 A little reminder for all of us

Mazarine’s reset rituals are simple, relatable, and inspiring. They show us that selfcare doesn’t have to be perfect. But it does have to be present.

So ask yourself today:

What truly brings me calm?

What would I love to do more often – just for me?

Rest isn’t weakness.It’s strength.
